Book Week

On Wednesday 21st August we celebrated Book Week.  As a School we have embraced a whole School approach to Literacy using the 'Four Blocks Literacy' program.  The 'Four Blocks' is a research based approach that is broken into four blocks of teaching and learning - guided reading, writing, self selected reading and working with words.  Students have the opportunity to develop in these blocks every day.

Book Week was a great way to celebrate all the work that has been happening with books over the past year. Staff and student were asked to come to school dressed up as their favorite character. There were some fantastic costumes by staff and students. Notable staff mentions to Sue Hoffman who was dressed up as Princess Fiona (green body paint and all), Julie for protecting the school as Constable Julie and Leonie for keeping everyone happy as Minnie Mouse.

Thank you to all who put in the effort to make Book Week a successful day. Keep reading!!
